Guest Posting

I’d love to host guest posts here at LoveLiveGrow. I always appreciate reading other perspectives, and it would be even nicer to have them here on these pages for my readers. I know you’ve got your own stuff going on, so it’s super-cool if you’re also interested in posting here!

Since it’s generally better to make sure expectations are clear from the beginning, here’s my idea of some guest posting guidelines (although these can be modified for specific situations).

General

• I welcome guest posts on lots of topics: homesteading, gardening, raising animals, Burning Man, body modification, hippie topics, eco-consciousness, simplicity, radical political ideas, ranting about current events, parenting, etc. If you have questions about a topic, contact me and I’ll let you know.
• Your guest post must be original material by you and owned by you, not previously published online or in print, and you agree not to publish it elsewhere for at least 30 days.
• You can include a bio, which can include a photo and links to your websites, social media profiles, etc.

Editorial

• Posts on LoveLiveGrow usually include at least one image. You can provide images that you have the legal rights to or Creative Commons images with credit line and link to the artist included. If you do not provide an image, I may look for a relevant CC image to include with the post, which I’ll submit for your approval prior to posting.
• You can include relevant links to your own site or other sites in your post. Affiliate links are not allowed.
• I may edit your post for grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors, or edit the formatting to make it more readable. You will be able to approve of the final version prior to posting.
• I may add a brief introduction or conclusion to your post explaining its inclusion at LoveLiveGrow, pointing readers to other resources, etc. This will be clearly set apart so that it’s easily distinguished from your post.

Submission

• Email your submission to me. Include the post in the body of the email rather than in an attachment.
• If your post is approved, I’ll let you know right away what date it will appear on LoveLiveGrow, pending your approval of any changes I make.
• If your post is rejected, I’ll let you know that right away, too, including the reason why.

Promotion

• You may wish to write a teaser post on your own blog or promote the post through your social media accounts to maximize its effect and exposure.
• I will respond to comments on your guest post, but you may also want to participate in any comments it generates.
