Mental nudity is an enormous task for most people, when there's so much of the misplaced concern that I mentioned. I try to focus both on being open about myself and being non-judgmental towards other people. Sometimes the latter is an enormous task, too. :-)

I wrote an essay in high school called Naked Anarchism; it was supposed to be modeled after Johnathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal". It was centered around using mandatory nudity and anarchism to end war and achieve world peace. The nudity portion stated that we needed to become nude in mind, which would be reinforced through physical nudity (not to mention posing the question of "Would you fire an M16 nude?"). Violence and conflict are usually centered around the unknown, which breeds fear and a need to protect oneself (Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate... heh). If we could just educate one another about our differences and then learn to embrace those differences, war and conflict would disappear! The satirical turn was that, of course, humanity as a whole (at least, I believed so) was far too incompetent for such a simple solution. However, I do truly believe that if more people were to adopt a "mental nudity", there'd be less strife in this world.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one...
